Nicholas Smith is a senior vice president and portfolio manager in the value and restructuring group. Mr. Smith joined Columbia Management in 2007 from U.S. Trust Corporation* and has been a member of the investment community since 2005.
Prior to joining U.S. Trust in 2005, Mr. Smith was an analyst with Merrill Lynch’s Global Power & Energy team.
Mr. Smith received a B.A. from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. In addition, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
*On July 1, 2007, U.S. Trust Corporation and its subsidiaries (U.S. Trust) was acquired by Bank of America Corporation, the indirect owner of Columbia Management Advisors, LLC.
