Louis Mendes is a portfolio manager. Mr. Mendes joined Columbia Wanger Asset Management in 2001 as a senior international analyst, covering foreign equities in Asia, Australia, Latin America and South Africa. He has been a member of the investment community since 1990.
Before joining Columbia Wanger Asset Management, Mr. Mendes was a portfolio manager at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers in Princeton, N.J. He managed international investment strategies for Merrill Lynch from 1993 to 2001. His prior experience also includes employment at Ningbo University (Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, P.R.C.) as an economics and English language instructor and in the Private Banking division of Bankers Trust Company as a portfolio assistant and credit analyst.
Mr. Mendes earned a B.A. degree in economics from Columbia University and a master of sciences in international management from the American Graduate School of International Management in Phoenix. In addition, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Mr. Mendes is proficient in Mandarin Chinese. |
